Dear Full-time pharmacist,
This year’s conference theme is THE INNOVATION INSIDE: Connected Healthcare Re-imagined.  It acknowledges that while our industry has been undergoing a significant evolution over the past several years, we have maintained and strengthened our best-in-class customer offering and experience through innovation, leadership, and determination.  We have continued to innovate throughout all areas of our stores, but have also particularly leveraged emerging digital touch points specific to our health and wellness offerings to bring new initiatives to market that have the ultimate goal of improving the lives of Canadians from coast to coast.

The conference will be held on Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29 at the Toronto Congress Centre, 650 Dixon Road, in Toronto.  Your Associate-owner recognizes that pharmacists value on-going learning and development and supports these activities by providing this unique opportunity to you and your colleagues.

Furthering our commitment to women’s health, through SHOPPERS LOVE. YOU., we are engaging in a special giving activity.  Partnering with Food Banks Canada, you are asked to bring a feminine hygiene product to support the dignity of women and girls across Central and Eastern Canada.  For more information on this activity, please see the SHOPPERS LOVE. YOU. tab on this website.

Below are a few important details that pharmacists have asked about at previous conferences. Please feel free to discuss any additional questions or comments with your Associate-owner.

  • Full-time pharmacists working an average of 28 or more hours per week at their home store are strongly encouraged to attend the 2018 Shoppers Drug Mart Pharmacist Conference in Toronto.
  • Pharmacists scheduled to work on Saturday and Sunday of the conference will be eligible for regular wages for all their scheduled shifts.  Those not scheduled to work Saturday and Sunday of the conference will not be paid additional wages to attend.
  • Air travel is approved only for pharmacists who live greater than four hours from the conference site.  Accommodations are available for all pharmacists on Saturday evening if desired.  In addition, pharmacists who must arrive to the conference site on Friday due to travel restrictions (greater than a one hour drive from the conference facility) will be eligible for accommodation on Friday evening as well.
  • We will be offering two additional CE Sessions on Friday, April 27 for those pharmacists that can attend without incurring any additional costs.  Vehicle travel to and from the conference should be discussed with your Associate-owner.
We look forward to seeing you at the conference!
